This Essex Wedding Venue Could be for You

Updated: Mar 4

If you are looking for an Essex wedding venue, I would thoroughly recommend Langton's House in Hornchurch. Located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings, including a picturesque lake and 6 acres of grounds, and hidden away from Hornchurch Town Centre, Langton’s House is ideal for all weddings including civil ceremonies and civil partnerships.

Langton’s House is a Grade II listed 18th Century House and public gardens. With its stunning surroundings and views, Langton’s House provides perfect photographic opportunities for you and your guests.

Inside the venue is just as impressive as outside. Having just been refurbished, Langton’s House now boasts three rooms, which are all licensed for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies. The first room decorated with chandeliers and the colour blue, the second room decorated the colour gold and cream, and the third green, cream and gold.

I photographed Nazia and Farrukh Nikah’s civil ceremony at Langton’s House a few years ago, and was able to capture some beautiful images and portraits of the couple and their guests. I captured most of my reportage wedding photography prior to the ceremony as guests greeted one another.

Much of the formal photography was captured after the ceremony. I spent about 90 minutes with Nazia and Farrukh, walking around the extensive grounds. With so many photographic ‘hotspots’ I was spoiled for choice, but I managed to choose the most attractive and most peaceful locations, which suited their requirements, and complimented the colours in the wedding dress.

The best aspect of photographing at locations such as Langton’s House, is because there is so much open space, inside and out, I can take advantage of the copious amounts of natural light available. This ensures that I capture images, which are soft, defining and natural.

For civil ceremonies and partnerships, Langton’s House really is the perfect venue. For more information, visit their website
