Today, I would like to share a 1st birthday photo ideas for boys. This was unquestionably one of the messiest and funniest photo-shoots I have ever done!
These baby pictures are from the final portrait shoot, which was one of five sessions in the Baby’s 1st Year programme that I offer my clients. I have now finished designing the baby’s 1st year album which is in production as I write.
The photo-shoot was held at my house, but as I don’t have a studio, I improvised with the back-drop. I also arranged it strategically, to make the most of the available light coming through the patio doors – combined with the use of fill-flash.
As you can imagine, this photoshoot had to be one hit wonder – no retakes! So, as soon the baby was put on the floor by mum, the chocolate cake went down in front of the baby, and I immediately started to capture the baby’s reactions…which went from looks of disbelief to sheer delight, then a sheepish “have I done something wrong?” look. It was hilarious.
Now, please keep in mind that this baby weighed 10lb, 4oz’s at birth. Four days before the photoshoot, at the baby’s one year check-up, the nurse said he could pass for a toddler. The chocolate cake was a 6-person cake and seriously, I had thought the mother would be taking some home for tea! D’ohhh – LOL!
Now then, if you are going to try this at home – here’s my TOP TIP…have a mop, a bucket and plenty of fairy liquid on standby…coz look what happened next!
Well, I think that was one happy baby, for at least the next ten hours any way (with that amount of sugar in his blood!).
