On Saturday, I supported a local school fete. I set up my “Kim Rix Photography“ stall to show the beautiful keepsakes I can create with the images I take as a professional portrait photographer. I exhibited a small selection of my most popular products including the portrait box, the cubix, Queensberry wedding albums, baby photo books and a couple of modern-style photo frames.

Several parents came to discuss photography for their special event; a child’s birthday party, a wedding and a family portrait shoot, to mention a few – and I was delighted to have the opportunity to chat and explain how I could work with them and help create some really beautiful memories for them.

Every now and again I went on a walk-about taking a few images of the various children’s activities going on around me.  Here are just a few images I took:

The school held a talent competition from which winners were selected to perform on stage at the Fete.  The above images is the school choir performing.

I’m not sure of the story behind the Wanna Beatles, but these lads performed a lot of my favourite Beatle songs – they sounded pretty impressive too!

Back to the talent competition, the above group of girls were singing and dancing.

There were so many different activities keeping the children occupied ranging from face-painting, henna tatooing, decorating fairy-cakes, making cards and water skittles to some kind of wrestling where the children had to wear huge protective body suits (below).

There was a bouncy castle and slide right next door to my photography stall so I was able to capture a lot of fun and laughter!

Capturing expressions and personalities is my speciality when it comes to photographing babies/children and taking family photos. This last image (above) of the little boy on his dad’s shoulders, is one of my favourites. I watched them walking across the car park, heading home no doubt. I just loved the way the little boy was draped so casually with his arms folded on dad’s head. He looked so relaxed and content - a priceless moment.

On July 14th, I will be at the Craft and Shopping Market in Gidea Park with all my photography products and beautiful keepsakes. If you would like to come and talk to me about how I can help you create some lasting memories, I’d love to meet you – St Michael’s Church Hall from 10.30 until 2.30pm. See you there!
