Photographing Children
I do love photographing children – this was a particularly challenging (but highly rewarding) portrait photography session, taken at my client’s home in East London…but the images were well worth the time and effort.
I couldn’t work out whether the little boy, not quite able to talk yet, was camera shy or just didn’t want to entertain the idea of having to entertain me (in a manner of speaking) - in his own world, and dead set on doing his own thing, it was very difficult to interact and establish a rapport with him. He definitely wasn’t a smiler, and he wasn’t going to sit still for more than 20 seconds at a time - and, when he did, he was looking downwards at his toys which made it tricky to catch any facial expressions.
But when he did eventually smile and laugh (with a little intervention from mum), it was amazing to watch and capture the moment. He was such a handsome little chap, as you can see below:

My warmest thanks to the parents for their hospitality and for letting me share the above images on my blog - I’m really delighted that you love them so much!
