Natural Portraits of Mother & Baby at Home

No Fuss, Just Natural Portraits I love being asked to capture such important images. Photographing babies is one of my favourite types of portrait photography, where I feel I can really share my skill and exercise my creative juices, by taking ‘natural portraits’ for families in London and Essex. Being a part of that special journey and knowing…

Top Ten Ways To Use A Professional Headshot For Business

Professional Headshot for Business Have you recently had a professional headshot for business taken? I have blogged many times about using a professional photographer to create a stunning headshot, to represent the authentic YOU. It is so important, especially if you own your own business and you do a lot of networking online. Women come to me, saying that they…

Caribbean Wedding Photography – African Caribbean Weddings

Caribbean Wedding Photography My husband and I recently returned from holiday in the Caribbean. I hadn’t intended to do any photography during that part of our holiday although I had my camera with me as we were making our way to a special Hindu wedding in Florida (check out my blog post last week). My husband is good at…

Hindu Wedding Photography – Max and Reena – Tampa Florida

Hindu Wedding Photography. This is the beautiful Hindu wedding of Max & Reena which took place on Friday 20 April 2013 in Tampa, Florida. Lorenzo Photography - I love that wonderful vibrant energy at Hindu wedding ceremonies. So much going on, so much to absorb. Great that you were able to get close to the action and the framing o the group shot works well.

Ian Baker - Great opportunity to get, Kim! So many lovely colours and nice detail work you captured there.

David @ Married to My Camera - Love your close up work and the contrast of the traditional ceremony against the modern venue. Good stuff!

Kim Rix - Thank you so much Lorenzo. Yes, I was able to get pretty close to the action. I had intended to be good and sit still in my seat, but as I watched so many people get up out of their seats to take pictures and chat, I changed my mind! I understand that at Hindu Wedding is very much a social occasion, and that people do mill around. In fact, it seemed to be a bit of a ‘free-for-all’ scenario.

Kim Rix - Thanks Ian. Yes, there were so many details. If I had been the official wedding photographer, I could have had an absolute field-day capturing all the lovely details. It really was a feast for the eyes and so interesting.

Kim Rix - Hello David. I think my favourite memory was the sister of the Groom putting the toe ring on the bride. I managed to take this picture by going to the back of the stage. There were so many people out of their seats and milling around that I didn’t feel out of place going to the back of the stage. I was careful not to get in the way of the official photographer, who was taking the shot from a different angle on the other side. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

Ideas for Entertaining Guests At A Wedding

Entertaining Guests At A Wedding FAQ: There’s usually a lull, whilst the wedding photo’s are being taken. How do you keep the remaining guests happy? If there is ever a complaint I hear most from wedding guests whilst I’m circulating doing the wedding photography, it is always about having to ‘wait around’. Coinsidentally, in my days…
