It is very exciting when a parent phones to ask about Newborn Photography. I cherish the opportunity to capture such an important time within the life of your family. My warmest congratulations to them and their family.
As a newborn and baby photographer, I take safety very seriously. It might surprise you to know that the newborn photography industry is completely unregulated. Photographers like me, who take safety seriously, have to take it upon ourselves to be trained and educated on how to ensure the beautiful images we create, are done safely.
Being a newborn and baby photographer requires a unique set of skills and there is a worldwide organisation that exists to support photographers like me, who want to have access to safety training and resources that we can use to provide clients like you with a better service.
The organisation is called BANPAS (Baby & Newborn Photography Association) http://www.banpas.co.uk/banpasforparents and you will be able to find me on their directory of photographers here. They also have a facebook page for pregnant and new parents here
I’d be delighted to chat to you about how I can create a beautiful album of your newborn and very happy to talk about how I do that safely. For parents and grandparents looking for something extra special, I offer a number of baby photography programs, to help you make the most of your baby’s first year.
I have a portable mini-studio which can be set up in your livingroom and is a good size for photographing your baby up to six months old. I also bring a variety of props, including the nest in the photo above. I have a frequestly asked questions page to help you – and for any other questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
