Answers to your questions

People often ask me about having jpeg images, about just buying prints, about how long it takes for albums and framed pictures to be made, copyright, etc. So, below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked about the most.

How long does it take to get our framed pictures and albums?

Edited images from your wedding are usually ready for viewing about two weeks later when you’ll probably be returning from honeymoon. Once you’ve chosen your pictures, framed photographs take two to three weeks to be produced, whilst albums usually take closer to eight weeks. As your album is designed and made by Queensberry in New Zealand, it takes a little longer than off the shelf products but, I promise, the quality makes it worth the wait.

Can we have jpegs of the finished images?

Generally speaking, no, you can’t. After each shoot we choose the best images to show you. You can then decide on the ones you want to have framed or put in an album or photo book. We only supply finished images in frames and/or albums, as we want to be sure that the images are displayed in the best possible way. However, where clients have bought a couple of framed pictures or a Queensberry album, we will provide a small selection, up to twenty images, formatted for Facebook so that clients can show some pictures to friends and family.

Copyright

We own the copyright in all of the images we’ve taken and in the albums we’ve designed. All of our work is protected under copyright law. If you commission a photographer to do your portraits or wedding photography, you don’t automatically get the copyright or the rights to have all of the images taken in the session. For business portraits only, we will provide a reproduction licence so that the images can be used for the purpose they were planned.

Can I just buy the prints and get them framed myself?

We don’t do ‘prints only’ commissions for portraits or weddings. We can provide prints for wedding clients who have ordered an album and want to be able to offer prints to their wedding guests. We want to be sure that our images are displayed in the best possible way and are produced to the highest standards possible. The only way we can do this is by controlling the design and production and by working with our carefully chosen suppliers.

One other thing, before you go…

Photography is personal and we want your experience working with us to be enjoyable and fun. Put simply, we love photography and we want to help you get the most from your pictures.  We try to provide options to suit every project, but we’ll also go that extra mile to accommodate your needs, so if there’s something different or extra we can do for you, just ask.
